BEtabox, BEtabox-ST and STD electrical enclosures
The BEtabox, BEtabox-ST and STD series of electrical enclosures are designed to house distribution, switching, network and other equipment rated up to 1,000 V. Wall-mounted and floor-standing models differ in construction, enclosure material, installation method and degree of protection. The appropriate version should therefore be selected according to the installation location and the equipment to be housed.
Types of electrical enclosure
The range includes three main series:
- BEtabox – wall-mounted electrical enclosures;
- BEtabox-ST – wall-mounted stainless-steel enclosures;
- STD – floor-standing electrical enclosures.
Each series has a specific purpose and its own construction features. The installation location, equipment type, environmental conditions, protection requirements and ease of installation should all be considered before selection.
Technical advantages
Selection should consider not only the enclosure dimensions but also the future operating conditions. A wall-mounted enclosure may be appropriate for compact equipment installations, while a floor-standing model is better suited to larger and more complex configurations.
The main selection criteria include:
- equipment type and purpose;
- rated voltage of the electrical equipment;
- installation location – indoors or outdoors;
- presence of aggressive substances in the environment;
- required degree of protection;
- installation method – wall-mounted or floor-standing;
- number of cables and cable entry method;
- need for mounting plates, shelves, profiles and rails;
- requirements for the enclosure material and surface finish.
The final configuration should be determined from the technical specification, power distribution diagram, equipment schedule and operating conditions.
Construction and materials
What series should be selected?
BEtabox is suitable for wall-mounted installation of electrical, telecommunications and network equipment in indoor environments.
BEtabox-ST should be considered for outdoor locations and industrial premises with aggressive environmental conditions where an AISI 304 stainless-steel enclosure is required.
STD is intended for floor-standing installation of distribution, switching and other electrical equipment. The series supports a range of mounting and protective components, while the STD.UP version provides an IP54 degree of protection.
Information required for enclosure selection
For accurate selection, it is advisable to provide:
- a list of the equipment to be installed;
- component dimensions and weight;
- an equipment layout;
- voltage data;
- installation location and method;
- environmental conditions;
- required degree of protection;
- number and direction of cable entries;
- enclosure material requirements;
- required mounting elements and accessories.
This information helps determine the appropriate series, dimensions, enclosure material and internal equipment without discrepancies arising during installation.
